1. Aerated water (or nutrient solution for hydroponic culture) with high concentration of oxygen gas
Oxygen gas concentration of the ambient air is approximately 21 % under 1 atm of atmosphere. Most of the other remaining part is occupied by nitrogen gas. Therefore, the concentration of dissolve oxygen in the water does not exceed 10 ppm (µg/L) with any aeration tools. To create the hyper-oxygenated water with more than 20 ppm of dissolved oxygen in the water (DO), high concentration of oxygen gas (over 90 %) is required.

2. Use of micro-bubble generator to save time for aeration
A large amount of water is daily required for the crop cultivation in the actual agricultural fields. Aeration with conventional aeration tools such as air-stone, diffuser, etc. that release mili-sizes of bubbles in the water takes too much time to create the hyper-oxygenated water. A micro-bubble generator that releases micro-bubbles with extremely high efficiency for dissolving gas to the water is necessary.

3. Use of oxygen generator to save the cost of oxygen gas for aeration
The aeration of the water with pure oxygen gas compressed in the cylinder costs too expensive for creating the hyper-oxygenated water even if a micro-bubble generator is used for the aeration of the water. This issue of the aeration cost for creating the hyper-oxygenated water is solved by the use of PSA type of oxygen concentrator that can release approximately 90 % of oxygen gas from the ambient air with only a small amount of power cost.

PSA test-ecoBubble®-400

【Experimental conditions】

eco-Bubble®-400 *1
Water temp. 18.9 ℃, 1 L per min. of 90 % of oxygen gas was carried from the oxygen concentrator to the nozzle of eco-Bubble®-400 to release micro-bubbles in the water.
Air stone
Water temp. 18.8 ℃, 3 L per min. of 90 % of oxygen gas was carried from the oxygen concentrator to the air stone to aerate the water with normal mili-bubbles.

*1: The recommendable gas flow rate to the nozzle of eco-Bubble®-400 is max. 1 L per min. for aeration of freshwater. If the gas flow rate increases more than 2 L per min., the device will release mili-bubbles and much less micro/nano-bubbles.
