Vannamei shrimp culture ponds in Chantaburi, Thailand
Puddle wheels or combined aeration system with blowers
and air stones has been adopted widely in the shrimp
culture ponds. However, the capacity of these devices for
dissolving oxygen gas to the water is fairly limited.
Consequently, DO of the water of the ponds often falls to
unhealthy levels for rearing shrimp, in particular, in the
latter half of the culturing period.

DO changes of the water in the shrimp culture pond
DO of the water tends to increase above saturation levels
by photosynthesis of phytoplankton during daytime, while
the phytoplankton consumes DO of the water for respira-
tion during nighttime. As the feed consumption in the
pond increases following the growth of reared shrimp,
the decrease of DO of the water during the nighttime
tends to become severer.
eco-Bubble® aeration system for shrimp culture can compensate the insufficient DO supply to the water of the shrimp culture ponds with its extremely high capacity for dissolving oxygen gas to the water.''
